Le Domino Blanc et Le Domino Noir

Raoul and Christine, the white and the black Domino.

Raoul looks so... I don't know... so pure, with all his white and Christine looks rather evil here. Why did leroux choose the colors this way? hm...

Anyway, I always wondered what he meant with "an black domino" when I was little and read the novel for the first time. How can you wear a domino???? I was thinking of those stones or the sweets that are called dominos, you know? XD

So I did some research and found out, that a domino is mostly just as mask that covers half the face or the full face like I drew it here. A complete Domino-outfit also has a cape with a hood so one can cover oneself's identity completely.

I was thinking about giving Raoul a black suit and Christine a white dress at first, but it looked stupid...

AND I wonder how Christine could possibly think they wouldn't draw attention in those outfits. Okay, it WAS a masqued ball and everyone was wearing a costume, but complete white and complete black would catch anyone's eye, I am sure. Especially that of a certain Red Death.

And did you know, there's even Opera called "Le Domino Noir". So Christine is a cosplayer XD
